Christ's Supreme Priesthood Conference 01
How precious it is to offer up a sacrifice to God, a "sacrifice of praise" (Psalm 49:14). This is the first conference, given at a Marian Retreat, during the Centenary of Our Lady of Fatima (Ashurst-Southampton 11 March 2017), deals with the importance and necessity of man’s cooperation in the work of Salvation. In order to deepen this necessity it is important to know what Jesus did for us to rescue us from sin and perdition. Christ is the Supreme High Priest, not in the lineage of Aaron but according to Melckisedek, and offered once and for ever the sacrifice of his own body. Christ says: "Here I am o Lord to do your will” (Psalm 39-.8-9). He learned the obedience from the suffering he had to endure, as the Epistle to the Hebrews says (cf. 5:8-10). Christ offered the sacrifice of salvation: He gave up Himself on the altar of his Cross. So He became the only and supreme Mediator between God and man, the High Priest of our reconciliation with God.
